$60 payable by check, cash or by credit card. Only Mastercard, Discover, or American Express. No VISA is accepted.
What do I need to bring?
Both applicants must provide a government issued ID, document proving permanent adress and a certified birth certificate. If either applicant was previously married, a divorce decree or spouse death certificate is required.
How To Apply:
One of the applicants must have lived in Bayfield County for at least 30 days in order to apply for marriage license there. Both applicants are required to provide a government issued ID, and a certified copy of Birth Certificate. If either applicant was previously married, a death certificate or Court stamped and signed copy of the divorce decree or annulment.
When does It Expire:
The marriage license is valid for 30 days from the date of issuance. Counting starts on the day after issuance and ends on day 30.
Name Change:
Filing for a marriage license in the state of Wisconsin does not cause your or your spouse’s last name to automatically change. Married name change services are available to guide you through the married name change process if you opt to change your name.
