How To Apply:

Both parties need to be present to apply for the license. Proof of age, Social Security number, and government issued identification. (Acceptable documents are driver’s license or state ID card) is required.

When does It Expire:

License is valid for sixty (60) days only in the county in which it was issued.

Name Change:
Filing for a marriage license in the state of Illinois does not cause your or your spouse’s last name to automatically change. Married name change services are available to guide you through the married name change process if you opt to change your name.
