How much is it?
A fee of $100.00 to be paid at the time of application is required. We do not accept credit cards, debit cards or out-of-state checks.
What do I need to bring?
Certified birth certificates, Social Security numbers, proof of residency, and if previously married, a filed copy of the final judgment of divorce, legal annulment or certified death certificate of deceased spouse must be shown at the time of application.
How To Apply:
Applicants must be present at time of application with documentary proof of identification and residence. This is a valid (not expired) drivers license or state ID, showing photo for identification and reflecting your CURRENT ADDRESS.All applicants, regardless of age, must present a state certified birth certificate and Social Security numbers. If either applicant was previously married,Judgment of Divorce papers is needed or death certificate of deceased spouse is required.
When does It Expire:
Counting the day after the issuance date, the marriage license is valid for exactly 30 days and must be used in that period of time.
Name Change:
Filing for a marriage license in the state of Wisconsin does not cause your or your spouse’s last name to automatically change. Married name change services are available to guide you through the married name change process if you opt to change your name.
