Are you a last minute person?  If so, you will love this Virginia rule! One of the great advantages in Virginia for obtaining a marriage licence is that there is NO waiting period! You get to walk out the same day you walked into the office with your marriage license in hand. The only thing the county clerk asks of you is that you get there about 30 minutes before the office closes. So if the office closes at 4:30, be sure to get there no later than 4:00!
