If you take the 8-hour premarital education course, not only is your 3-day waiting period waived, but you recieve a $60 discount on marriage license fees. Not to mention you get to learn some key components of a successful marriage. Some of these marriage licenses can cost up to $82. That reduces your marriage license to $22! After taking the premarital education class, you will receive a certificate to present to the County Clerk. These classes do not have to be completed in one day. They can be weekend events or multi-week educational series. Clergy, licensed mental health professionals or marriage educators lead these classes.
