New Hampshire issues marriage licenses through City/Town Clerks, not at the County level. During our research, we selected one city or town from each county to obtain information about getting a marriage license. Before contacting your city/town clerk, here is some information about obtaining a marriage license that is shared throughout the entire state: There is a 3 day waiting period for a license to be issued, the marriage license is valid for 90 days, the marriage license fee is $45.00, and both parties must be present to file.
