How To Apply:

Both parties must appear at the County Clerk's Office. Persons obtaining a marriage license in Mason County MAY NOT use the license in any other county. Applicants must be 18 years old or older, proof of age is required.



When does It Expire:

The license is void 60 days after the effective date.

Filing for a marriage license in the state of Illinois does not cause your or your spouse’s last name to automatically change. Married name change services are available to guide you through the married name change process if you opt to change your name.
