Florida has different rules for residents and non-residents seeking to obtain a marriage license. The main difference: residents in Florida who want to file for a marriage license, will have a 3-day waiting period, while non residents have no waiting period. The fee for both residents and non-residents is $93.50.  Like many other states, Florida offers a way to reduce your marriage license fees for both residents and non-residents! If you take a premarital course and bring the completed certificate to the clerk’s office, you reduce your marriage license fee by $32.50. Also, great news for residents of Florida – this course also waives your 3-day waiting period! Make sure if you are planning on taking this course that you take it within a year of the application date of your marriage license!
