How To Apply:

Couples wishing to get married in Florida may obtain their marriage license in any county within the State. To apply for a marriage license in Lee County both the bride-to-be and the husband-to-be need to be present. Our office is located at 2115 Second Street, 2nd Floor, Fort Myers, FL, in the County Administration Building. You can apply for a license Monday through Friday or have the marriage ceremony performed in the office anytime between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.



When does It Expire:

After 60 days


Name Change:
Filing for a marriage license in the state of Florida does not cause your or your spouse’s last name to automatically change. Married name change services are available to guide you through the married name change process if you opt to change your name.
