How To Apply:

Applicants must be 18 years or older, both parties must appear in person with a valid photo ID, both need to know their parents full names including mother's maiden name and the state or county their parents were born. If one was divorced, must know date when the marriage was ended.

Name Change:
Filing for a marriage license in the state of California does not cause your or your spouse’s last name to automatically change. Married name change services are available to guide you through the married name change process if you opt to change your name.
